Model Applied in Hotels

In the event that a driver cannot prove their link to the guest or is not authorized to provide the service, access is restricted. This strategy, they note, has worked thanks to coordination with the hotel sector, which has supported the inspectors’ instructions.

Safety as the Main Focus

Salinas Ceseña emphasized that the primary goal of these actions is to guarantee tourist safety, ensuring they use duly regulated vehicles.

In this regard, he reminded that authorized transporters operate under federal permits and comply with established guidelines; therefore, any service outside of this framework must be sanctioned.

Currently, there are records of approximately 300 transportation companies with federal authorization, which collectively operate nearly 1,500 units. Added to this are more than 1,300 taxis that also provide services in the municipality.
