Los Cabos would be connected to Dubai by 2030 via Emirates

The Los Cabos Tourism Trust presented its 2025 annual report, highlighting the reception of 3.7 million tourists, which symbolizes a growth of 0.6 percent.

Los Cabos, Baja California Sur – The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca) presented its 2025 results report on February 17, confirming that among the future connectivity projects for the tourist destination is a connection to the Middle East through Emirates airline.
Although Los Cabos does not yet have a significant volume of travelers from the United Arab Emirates, Fiturca’s CEO, Rodrigo Esponda, explained that the airline’s strategy is to use Los Cabos to connect with other regions and expand its network.

It is a project, as the director said, for all of Latin America and its vision as an airline for 2030, which includes Los Cabos, so we simply need to strengthen the business case so that it continues to be carried out

Other air routes being pursued to connect the destination with new markets include: Montreal, Canada with Air Transat; Toronto, Canada with Porter; and London, England with British Airways. This last market has seen an increase in visitors in the last year, and its traveler profile is high-spending, which is the desired outcome.

By 2026, Fiturca confirmed 3 new routes that will connect with the tourist destination: Indianapolis and Las Vegas via Southwest, and Puebla with Volaris.

Tourist volume will no longer grow

During 2025, the municipality of Los Cabos received a total of 3.7 million visitors, representing a growth of just 0.6 percent. Esponda Cascajares stated that they no longer intend for the destination to grow in volume, as they are not looking to attract just any tourist.
“We are not seeking volume for volume’s sake, but rather the kind of tourist who generates benefits for the community. It might even be controversial to say that we will continue without significant growth, as we haven’t seen in recent years. It’s the same old story; we’re simply making a better story”.

Because the goal is for Los Cabos to not only depend on its main market, the United States, last year more than 2,500 promotional actions were carried out and the strategy was reinforced in 21 markets such as Canada, Spain, Japan, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil, to attract tourists from other regions.
